~ * ~ I would prefer a digital thermometer for BBQ. The one I use, has a remote probe with a long cable to connect the device. I set the alarm to go to a certain temperature so the meat is never too much. I had the alarm clock at 5 degrees below what I want the final core temperature of the meat and then remove and let it all rest on the temperature and juices to distribute.
